As the Royal wedding happened last week I was inspired to make an artwork symbolising the beautiful event. Images provided by getty images and google.

Art gallery showcase at Chelsea College of Arts

These photographs are of an art gallery showcasing the work of artist Sonia Boyce. I was asked to help set up the whole installation of the artwork. I worked alongside three other peers who attended the same university as me. It was a beautiful experience working alongside Sonia. I learnt so much. There was a large see saw designed by somebody else that was also briefly at the university.

These are photographs from the art gallery showcase of the university students who were in the year below me just starting out. My memory of when I was in that position many years ago was being young and innocent. Very keen to impress. I found my soul there as an artist while I was a teenager. My advise to any young artist / designer is to enjoy every moment. Listen to the tutors but not hang on everything they say. Take risks, experiment and know that it is not a competition. Also learn from your friends and peers too.

Throwback secondary school picture

These photographs are of my early graphic design studies in secondary school many years ago while I was studying for my GCSEs. This project was for me to design an album cover art of various music artists songs.

Parish Mass Book

This is the mock up of the re-design of the Parish Mass Book that is used in all Catholic churches.

The Qur'an

This design was where I have designed the book cover jacket of The Qur'an. The religious text of Islam. I did a mock up and a flat.

Daksh Kubba

This branding design was for the New Delhi and Canadian singer Daksh Kubba. I recommend you listen to his music on iTunes.

CATMAMA logo

This project was one where I had to design a logo for the online shop CATMAMA whom sells cat food online amongst other things. The whole thing was aimed at women and girls who own cats.

Coleman Institute branding

This branding design project was where I had to design the identity of the Coleman Institute.

Kuailo logo

This logo was designed for the DJ Kuailo. They wanted it to have a classy, elegant and timeless look to it.

This design was about the name stickers. During my time of studying this actual one was used a lot. So I decided to add my name logo to it.

First scene

York and flatmate Virgil talk.

York

Thanks Virg. I’m so grateful.

Virgil

It’s your room. You pay rent just like me. We’re flatmates.

There is a knock on the door. York opens the door. Koran, Adarius, Buddy, Mario and Ivan are there.

Koran

Hey York. Slumber party. Popcorn and chocolate. Peace offering.

Adarius

Did you think we would let our best mate drown his sorrows alone?

York

Come in. Come in.

Next scene

York, Virgil, Koran, Adarius, Buddy and Ivan all talk about Scott.

York

I really loved him. I really thought he was the one stupid me.

Ivan

I really don’t know what you saw in him. You were and are still too good for him.

Mario

You let your standards slip when it concerns Scott. He is such a moron and his raps are sad, sick and lame. Tacky.

The bell rings.

York

Oh. That’s Kendrick. A mate from uni. He’s a sound guy.

York opens the door.

Hey York. I got pizza.

York

Get in. It’s freezing out there late at night.

They handshake. York gives him a hug. Virgil looks on and smiles.

Cressida is in her apartment kissing her boyfriend Dylan and she stops seeing something on the TV.

That bitch. Thinks she is snow white with her dwarfs.

Dylan

H3rcul3s (an Olympic athlete) for Fashion showcases innovative clothing for an office environment. He raps to an original song he wrote and produced. He covers singing with a guitar The Beatles: Drive my Car, Lemar: If there’s any justice, James Morrison: You give me something, The Jacksons: Can you feel it, Robin Thicke: Blurred Lines. He gives the teachers his modelling portfolio. He last plays a song he produced for his gang The Trappers.

It is the lunchtime break. York is dancing in the dance studio to upbeat Hip Hop music. Mr Rafferty walks into the studio.

Mr Rafferty

Hey York. Nice moves.

York

Thanks. Just doing what I do.

Mr Rafferty

York. Let me level with you. You are an athlete dancer but glorifying your relationship with Scott won’t help your career in the long run.

York

Well that’s not a problem. Me and Scott split up.

York sheds a tear.

York

He cheated on me with Cressida.

Mr Rafferty pauses then speaks.

Mr Rafferty

I thought he really loved you.

York

Guess not and her she is evil. I had a lot of respect for her and that’s gone.

Mr Rafferty rolls his eyes and then speaks.

Mr Rafferty

Maybe it was for the best. York do you want me to get some lunch for you?

York

No. I’m fine thanks. I’d rather practise.

Mr Rafferty walks out of the studio and H3rcul3s walks in.

Hey York.

York

Hi. How are you finding things here?

H3rcul3s

It’s all good. I can’t complain. No problems.

York

Can I help you with anything?

H3rcul3s

Yes. The thing is that I’m doing this song with Caleb but he has a sore throat. Would you be able to step in for him? Please?

York

Look H3rcul3s. I’m not the greatest singer in the world.

H3rcul3s

York. Don’t put yourself down. I heard your song with Scott and it’s dope. You are a triple threat. Come on York. For me please?

York

Okay. I’ll do it.

It is Brody’s leaving party. Everyone parties into the night and Brody makes a speech. Everyone cheers and has a toast to Brody’s new life.

Judy

Winston and Scott talk.

Winston

I damaged my knee. Can you believe it? Retired from football before 20. At first I thought it was the end of my life but I realised there are more things to life. Look at Eamon in the fucking army fighting for us.

Scott

You know there is the university football competition. You could train us for it. Everyone’s so posh and less athlete here.

Winston

Why not.

Winston drinks his drink.

Mrs Duff approaches Brody.

Mrs Duff

Brody

Mrs Duff

Brody. I want you to stay. Please I didn’t mean what I told you. You are my baby. Your Mother told me to tell you to leave and I don’t want you to go. You have guts. Molly walks in.

Molly

Is everything alright?

Brody

How could you Mum?

Molly

Brody.

Brody walks back into the club.

Molly

Now look what you have done.

Molly follows Brody.

Molly

Brode. I was doing what was best for you.

Brody

I’m nearly twenty. You can’t smother me anymore.

Everyone hears.

Molly

Brody. You are causing a scene.

Brody

So what. Let everybody hear. Mrs Duff is my Mother. You tried to separate us but you can’t anymore.

Scott in shock speaks.

Scott

Mother.

Brody

Yes she is.

Ms Napoleon

Laila.

Mrs Duff

Brody speaks to Molly.

Brody

From now on I am getting to know my estranged Mother.

Brody and Mrs Duff walk out.

Judy and Priya talk.

Brody brings his family to meet with Mrs Duff’s family for dinner.

This is my Mum Molly, Dad Morgan and my Sister Danielle.

They talk about everything. Molly snaps.

Laila

Next scene

It is Cressida’s album listening party. Malik and Priya talk.

She wanted to be the best at Artisque and to succeed in the music. She sees you as a threat.

Priya walks away while Cressida performs.

Priya

I gave you everything. We had sex. All my love and she is pimping you. You motherfucking bastard.

Priya slaps Malik and runs outside.

Next scene

Priya waits in Judy’s house let in by her parents. Judy walks in.

Judy

Hey Priya. I am going to be on page three. Me. Can you believe it?

Priya cries.

Cressida has been paying Malik to date me.

Priya cries and Judy hugs her.

A week passes and Cressida & Dylan are eating at a café. Cressida gets a call and hangs up.

Cressida

Dylan. The album is number one.

Dylan kisses her.

Next scene

Xavier is reading the newspaper in his apartment and sees Judy on page three topless. He smashes up his apartment and screams.

Next scene

Cressida and Daphne are chatting outside the university and Priya approaches Cressida.

Priya

How dare you send that thug to my door?

Cressida

Excuse me.

Priya

You know what I am talking about.

Daphne

Why are you in our faces?

Cressida

I don’t know what you are talking about.

Priya

Don’t play dumb with me. Malik told me everything.

Daphne

Cressida ignore her. Come on. Let’s go.

Priya

No. I’m not finished talking with you yet.

Daphne

Oh please. Get lost.

Priya pushes Daphne. Cressida pushes Priya and they end up fighting. Judy intervenes trying to break it up.

Priya

You are insane and music isn’t everything. You are such a loser. You are so sad and bitter. Been doing music for too long. Maybe you should change profession. You need to get a life and a real one. You are my enemy.

Priya and Judy walk away.

Next scene

Vanessa has finished working the studio and is picked up by Peter with Stephanie.

Vanessa

Thanks Peter. That was a long one.

Peter

I can’t believe you did a song with DJ Gold.

Vanessa

Yeah. I know and he handpicked me himself. Anyway how is Steph?

Peter

She’s been good. Look Vanessa I don’t know how to say this but I’m going to say it. I have a girlfriend called Melody. We have been together for a while now and I would like her to meet Stephanie.

Vanessa

Oh. I didn’t expect that. How long have you been together?

Peter

Nearly a year.

Vanessa

And it’s serious?

Peter

Yes.

Vanessa

Okay. It’s fine by me. I actually was going to ask you something but I’ll have to adjust what I have to say. I have an invite for my final year showcase and would you be able to be there with Steph? I’ll get another invitation for Melody.

Peter

Yeah.

Next scene

Priya and Judy talk.

Priya

I hate her so much.

Judy

I don’t know what’s worse. Her or him?

Priya

I hate this place. I hate men.

Judy

Priya. What’s wrong? What is it? Something has been up with you for a while now. Not just Malik.

Priya in tears speaks.

Priya

It’s Mr Rafferty.

Judy

Oh him. The teacher who is way too young.

Priya

We were practising the night we were meant to go shopping and he tried it on with me. He touched me.

Judy

What! Mr Rafferty.

Priya

Mr Rafferty.

Judy

I knew it. I knew something was a bit off. This place is horrible. Cressida, Malik and a teacher we look up to.

Judy grabs Priya by the hand.

Priya

Where are we going?

Judy

Where do you think? To Mr Mungo.

Next scene

Judy and Priya are sitting down outside Mr Mungo’s office. Mr Mungo goes up to the girls.

Mr Mungo

Judy. Priya. What’s wrong?

Judy

It’s private. Can we go into your office?

They walk into the office.

Judy

I have to tell you something about the mistreatment Priya has been suffering at Artisque.

Mr Mungo

Priya. My dear. What has happened?

Priya talks to Mr Mungo.

Next scene

Winston is doing a training session with the Artisque students. Coaching Scott, Kendrick, Eamon, Brody, H3rcul3s, Malik, Otis, Yinka and Caleb.

Next scene

Mr Mungo, Priya and Judy speak.

Mr Mungo

Priya. I believe you and I totally condemn it all. I am going to call the Police. Do you want me to call your Parents?

Priya

Yes. Could you also call Imran?

Mr Mungo

Who is he?

Priya

A close friend.

Next scene

Priya’s Parents arrive at Artisque to see Priya and Judy with the Police.

Next scene

Mr Rafferty is teaching year three students. The Police enter and arrest him. They take him outside where Priya, Mr Mungo, Judy and her Parents watch him being taken away. Imran appears at Artisque.

Imran

Priya.

Priya cries into Imran’s arms hysterically.

Next scene

Artisque students are training in a park and the Police arrest Malik.

Next scene

Cressida is recording songs in the studio while Dylan is there and the Police arrest her.

Dylan

Cressida. What is going on?

Cressida

I don’t know. Call my Parents.

Next scene

Brody and Laila are having lunch in the canteen. Catching up and getting to know each other.

Brody

You really did that?

Laila

What can I say? I’m a daredevil.

Brody

So who is in the picture?

Laila

That’s Maria, Violet, Eric and Travis.

Brody

Who’s Travis?

Laila

Your Father.

Brody

Was he as good as you said he was?

Laila

He was. He was my first real, true love. I did love him and if he didn’t happen you wouldn’t be here.

Brody

Then why is Travis not my birth certificate?

Laila

It ended badly after I decided to give you up but not to him. My Parents forbid it and I followed their instructions. He would not have been able to provide for you. We were too young as I said before.

Brody

Do you mind me tracking him down now?

Laila

No. It’s okay. I really want you to be a part of my life. And his. I have a meeting with Mr Mungo and I don’t care if he gives me the boot.

Next scene

Mr Rafferty is in custody talking with the Police.

Police

Did you sexually assault your pupil Priya in any way?

Mr Rafferty

No. We did a one to one rehearsal to help her learn her lines. Yes I touched her but not like that. It was an innocent touch. I don’t see Priya like that.

Next scene

The Police talk to Malik.

Police

Why did you take money to date Priya?

Malik

Cressida approached me to do it for money. I’m in a university where everybody is rich but me. I did what I had to do to survive on this degree course. Every little detail was down to Cressida.

Next scene

The Police talk to Cressida.

Police

Did you pay an individual to engage in romantic relations with another person?

Cressida

No. What do you take me for? You having a laugh? That’s not in my nature.

Next scene

The Police drop by Priya’s house speaking to her and her Parents.

Police

Priya. About Mr Rafferty there is no evidence to charge him. He denied it and if it did happen he attempted to kiss you not actually sexually assaulting you.

Priya

What? You don’t believe me?

Police

I personally believe you but there is no evidence whatsoever. It’s only your word against his.

Priya

I don’t care if Barack Obama looked me in the eye and told me it was not assault. He sexually assaulted me.

Waqar

How can we bring him to justice?

Police

Don’t. It’s best that Priya stays away from Mr Rafferty.

Priya’s Mother

And he continues to teach?

Police

Please. Try not to see it like that.

Priya’s Mother

Well. Thanks for everything you have done.

Waqar

What about Malik and Cressida?

Police

Malik admitted it and Cressida denied it. Again there is no evidence.

Priya’s Mother

They all get away with it.

Police

The case is not closed. Priya if there is anything you feel helps this investigation call me.

Waqar

Those two peers also continue at Artisque?

Police

I’m afraid so and it is up to the headteacher.

Priya’s Mother

Well. Thanks again.

The Police leave.

Waqar

I’m going to kill Mr Rafferty. Taking advantage of a teenager.

Priya’s Mother

Your Father was right all along Priya. You should not have chased your dreams. Your dreams are just filled with people making it a nightmare. Darling I think it is best you drop out of Artisque and go back to being a Doctor.

Priya

Mum. I can’t quit. I’m going to see this through. I will not let them get one over me. You both taught me never to let evil win.

The doorbell rings.

Priya

I’ll get it.

Priya answers the door and it is Imran.

Priya

Imran.

Imran

How are you bearing up?

Priya

I’ll be just fine. You’re here with me.

Priya pauses for a second. Priya yells:

Priya

Mum, Dad. I’m going out with Imran. I’m not quitting. Bye.

Priya grabs her jacket and closes the door.

Imran

Where do you want to go?

Priya

Anywhere.

Next scene

Otis and Vanessa talk.

Otis

Vanessa. I’m going to ask you for the thousandth time. Will you go out with me?

Vanessa

Alright. Alright. But I heard you were going out with Gemma’s Sister?

Otis

No. It was just a bit of fun. A one night stand. I can end it with her for you.

Vanessa

Okay. But anywhere out of London.

Next scene

Priya and her Parents, Malik and his Parents, Cressida with her Parents all have individual meetings with Mr Mungo. Priya with her Mum and Dad enter Artisque and Mr Rafferty approaches them.

Mr Rafferty

Priya. I’m so sorry you misinterpreted my teaching methods.

Waqar

What? Your teaching methods.

Waqar punches Mr Rafferty and beats him down leading teachers to restrain him. Priya shouts:

Priya

You creep.

Malik and his Parents walk out of the office.

Malik

Priya. Did you get what you wanted? I’ve been expelled.

Priya’s Mum

Good.

Priya

Mum. Don’t waste your breath on him.

Priya sings:

I love my duty of care. To protect and serve. I will never regret it. They made the decision for me to no longer be in the army. I was so lucky that my Parents exposed me to so many things I could do as an adult in my childhood. But they were not happy I entered the army. They are probably happier I am out of the army and here at Artisque.

Scott

Scott attempts to punch H3rcul3s. York walks up to them. 

York

York

Mr Rafferty teaches his lessons and it finishes.

Judy

Mr Rafferty can I discuss something with you in private?

Mr Rafferty

Everyone walks out.

Judy

I just want to let you know Priya is absolutely fine. She is happy. She married her childhood sweetheart Imran. A good man. Better than you will ever be. You are just a piece of nothing and you will. When you will be fired from Artisque we are all going to celebrate. We will have a ball.

Judy pushes Mr Rafferty. He pushes her to the ground. Somebody hits Mr Rafferty with a weapon.

Cressida walks in.

Cressida sees him on the floor.

Vanessa walks in.

York

Virgil. I love you. You know that. But my history with Scott. I'm still not over him. I don't forgive him. But my heart is with Scott. I don't know the future about us but my heart and history is with Scott. I'm sorry Virgil.

Virgil

Eamon bumps into Mr Mungo. 

Eamon 

Hey Mr Mungo. Have you seen Judy?

Mr Mungo

Eamon. This is not a good time. 

Eamon

An ambulance. Who is it for?

Mr Mungo

Mr Rafferty. He's been attacked. I have to see to him. 

Eamon calls Judy and leaves a message.

Eamon

Judy. I don't know how to say this but Mr Rafferty has been attacked. Do you know what happened? Anyway call me back. 

Mr Rafferty is taken by paramedics to the ambulance.

Priya, Judy, Vanessa and Cressida talk.

It is the final year show. Families and friends attend. First is the art gallery showcase. Scott showcases drawings and paintings. York showcases fine art. Otis showcases women's fashion clothing. Winston showcases his football designs. Eamon draws portraits of his peers and photographs from his time in the army. H3rcul3s showcases fashion designs for men. Heaven showcases photographs. Tammie showcases fashion designs for women.

The stage show

Caleb performs a new song he wrote and the song he wrote for boyband 'Unique'.

Kendrick does a ballet dance.

Brody narrates poetry he wrote.

Scott performs a solo song. He brings Chung Dudes to perform a song. He performs his song with York. Scott asks the DJ to turn off the music.

Scott

York. We have been together for more than five years. Those have felt like a lifetime. So I'm asking you here and now. Will you marry me?

York

Yes. But what about my family?

Scott

I asked your Parents and your Mum approved. Ignore your Dad. Actually they are all here in the audience. 

York's family stand up and everyone cheers. Scott shows York his ring. 

York

Scott. Oh my god. Scott it is beautiful. I have to buy you one.

Scott puts the ring on York's finger.
